The Process

Design & Planning
This is the time to photograph, sketch and plan. We will work together to decide exactly what your dream portrait will look like.

Painting
Over the next few months, your piece will be in the studio being carefully worked on and shared with you.

Gifting
Once you have approved the final images and know your piece is perfect, you will receive your one of a kind portrait.

Here are the most common questions I am asked about my custom portraits!

I have painted children everywhere from here so 6 months to 18 years old!
My advice is really to choose what you would love to see on your wall every day.

Depending on the level of detail, the portrait can take up to 6 months to complete.
My list of upcoming projects stays quite full so please get in touch if you have a specific date you would like delivery by and I will try to accommodate.

Yes! Many people like to do all the siblings at the same time so you can show their birth order.
Some parents decide they would like a 5 year old portrait (or some other age) for each child and prefer to space it out.

A phone call with me always helps the brainstorm process.
Think about what you want in your home. Do you want the piece to reflect their personality or do you want a piece that matches your design style?
We can always start with planning a Classic portrait and go up in price if you decide you want more detail!

As long as the quality of the photo is good I can work from an old professional photo.
Blurry or iPhone photos usually do not have the detail I prefer to work with to make the best piece. I offer photo portrait sessions if you do not have a recent image.

During the times they giggle and play together, we say it. During the times they aren’t so sweet to one another we say it. It’s a small reminder for them to stop and think about how they were created for each other, to draw strength from one another and to love and support one another. This was the overarching theme I approached Cora B. with and she could not have been a better partner to collaborate, help develop and bring that vision to life with.
The background of their portraits is an homage to the wallpaper in their rooms. This will most likely not be our forever home, but it is our first home, and I wanted a snapshot of the incredibly special time it has been for them to share a bedroom.
When I think of my older girl, she floats like a butterfly. She is easy going, sociable, relaxed and loves people so in her portrait butterflies are more prominent. Livy is more reserved, cautious and protective, but so full of joy and sweetness at the same time so birds are featured more in her portrait. My favorite detail is that both birds and butterflies are present in their portraits reminding them of what started it all: sisters are for each other.

payment & invoicing
Before any painting will begin, both invoices must be PAID IN FULL. Sketches are created after the first invoice is paid.
All invoices are sent through a secure email link and can be paid through credit card or bank transfer.
